Grease Traps
Grease traps or “interceptors” are a plumbing device acting as a frontline defence against the release of fats, oils and grease (FOG) entering controlled wastewater or sewerage systems and eventually, the ocean.
Treatment plants for wastewater cannot process FOG. These devices made from plastic, fibreglass or concrete are in-built into the wastewater output inside buildings or buried outside and are an important defence ensuring FOG is not released into the environment.
When uncontrolled grease from commercial, industrial or domestic kitchens enters the wastewater, its effect is comparable to an oil spill, hence the importance of capturing FOG before it enters the wastewater management system. Without utilising FOG traps, the global environmental impact will be enormous.
J-All Bacterial Remediation
Kitchen wastes - fats, oils and grease are hydro-carboniferous. The challenge is to break down the long carbon chains found in the hydrocarbons. J-All LO-FOGS bacteria can efficiently and quickly break down the carbon links in an environmentally friendly way as J-All contains entirely natural bacteria.
Found in, any grease trap, the floating FOG is continuous; the waste that falls to the bottom and sits in an anaerobic zone, cannot be decomposed by J-All; however, as the FOG float on the surface, they can be aerated and vigorously decomposed by J-All LO-FOGS.
J-All LO-FOGS
J-All LO-FOGS was developed to counteract the constraints of established on-site remediation. The product is a fluid oil 100% organic remediation product and can be used in complex ecosystems.
Natural ingredients derived from essential amino acids and carbohydrates form robust decomposing agents to accelerate the natural production of enzymes able to break down hydrocarbons found in organic matter.
These hydrocarbons develop into bacterial proteins, forming a biological “mud” - a mixture of soluble fatty acids. This completely environmentally friendly final product supports the advancement of advantageous organisms and microbes.
J-All LO-FOGS has a natural surface-active agent (surfactant) that enables bacteria to adhere to the hydrocarbon (the FOG) is decomposed completely. A continuous dosage onto the surface of the grease trap (drip or spray) is advised. If neither process is feasible, J-All can be flushed through the basin.
It eliminates odours from the grease trap automatically and adheres itself to the grease. This process is more economical and quicker whilst protecting the environment and human health.
The long-term benefit of using J-All is that it naturally aids biodegradation.
